针灸医学工程研究室（国家中医药管理局医学成像和生物物理三级实验室）是以医学成像和生物物理技术为手段，研究针灸作用原理和经络及穴位特异性等几个方向的科研实验室。这些研究方向主要可分为1）针灸效应的生物学机制研究；2）经穴脏腑相关论的医学成像和生物物理研究；3）经络穴位生物理化特性的研究；4）循经低流组织液的研究；5）针灸诊疗设备的研制开发。本研究室先后承担国家“七五”、“八五”和“九五”攻关课题、国家自然科学基金项目、国家中医药管理局科研课题、国家中医药行业专项、国家973中医药专项分题、中国中医科学院资助课题等20余项。获得部局级成果5项，院级成果5项，获得国家专利10项。共发表研究论文200余篇，其中SCI收录论文约40篇，EI收录论文10篇。论文总被引用达1800余次。目前研究室由2个课题组组成，研究员、博士研究生导师、中国中医科学院学科带头人2人，副研究员1人，助理研究员1人，副主管技师1人，主管技师3人。2008年通过国家中医药管理局三级实验室验收，配备了先进的实验设备和相关实验技术，包括活体成像和化学发光成像技术，激光多普勒和散斑血流成像技术，红外热成像技术，生物流阻/压力测量技术，高光谱成像技术，光谱分析技术，肌电/脑电测量分析技术，气体分压检测技术，组织学特性检测技术等。可提供医学成像系统共享平台设备及技术。
Department of Biomedical Engineering (Medical Imaging and Biophysical Three Level Laboratory of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine) is a research laboratory to study several directions about the action principle of acupuncture and moxibustion and the specificity of meridians and acupoints by medical imaging and biophysical techniques. The study directions can be divided into 1) The biological mechanisms of the effect about acupuncture and moxibustion; 2) The study of medical imaging and biophysical about the related theory between meridian and organs; 3) The study of biophysical and chemical characteristics of meridian and acupoints; 4) The study of the low flow tissue fluid through meridian; 5) The development of acupuncture treatment equipment. More than 20 projects have been finished or carrying on in our department from National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFA), Ministry of Science and Technology(MST), State Administration of TCM(SATCM) and China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences(CACMS) which are fund projects, industry projects, sub-projects of 973 and independent projects. 5 achievements of the ministerial and bureau level, 5 outcomes of academy level, and 10 national patents have been obtained. There are more than 200 papers published, that including 39 papers in SCI and 10 papers in EI. The papers were cited totally more than 1800 times. The laboratory is composed of two research groups currently. 2 people are researcher, doctoral tutor, and academic leader of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. 1 person is associate researcher, 1 person is assistant researcher, 1 person is deputy
director technician, and 3 people are competent technician. The laboratory was passed the acceptance of Three Level Laboratory of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2008, and was equipped with advanced laboratory equipment and related experimental techniques, including in vivo imaging and chemiluminescence imaging technology, laser Doppler and speckle
flow imaging technology, infrared thermal imaging technology, Health Logistics resistance / pressure measurement technology, hyperspectral imaging technology, spectroscopy techniques, EMG / EEG measurement and analysis techniques, gas partial pressure detection technology, histological feature detection technology and so on.
